Analyze resource usage to optimize your EC2 instance

Is the instance under utilized or over taxed? Is the instance type right for my application workload? Gather critical performance metrics to see how the computational resources in your instances are being used.

CPU utilization

See how much percentage of the allocated compute units are currently being used by your application to run. Compare instance CPU utilization with physical CPU usage to identify CPU steal.

Memory breakup

Monitor the memory activity on each instance, know more about swap usage(page in/ page out) and page faults. Set alerting mechanisms and get notified when pages or processes are moved from the memory to the disk.

Instance Load

The load average will give you a measure about the number of processes or tasks that are waiting in queue to receive CPU cycles or disk i/o. You can set up alerts to get notified when load average starts to exceed the number of assigned compute units.
