Optimize your Redshift cluster performance with Site24x7

If you're using a cloud-hosted data warehouse service like Amazon Redshift to power your business reports, dashboards, or analytic tools, then you need to know much more than "Is my cluster up or down?"

Site24x7's new AWS integration for Redshift is designed to give you comprehensive visibility into the health and performance of your clusters, so you can make informed decisions on scaling and resizing. For example, you can visualize performance data on the system-level resource usage of a cluster, and configure thresholds to immediately respond to CPU, memory, or I/O constraints before they negatively impact query execution performance. You can also view a list of events associated with each cluster.

A few things to remember

Licensing:

Each Redshift cluster or compute node is considered a basic monitor.

Alert-ready metrics:

DB admins can view CPU utilization, database connections, network transmit throughput, query duration, query runtime breakdown, Read/Write IOPS, Read/Write latency, and other metrics for greater insight into infrastructures resource usage and database activity.

AWS IAM policies:

We recommend assigning the managed policy ReadOnlyAccess to Site24x7. However, if you're using a custom policy, then please make sure the read-level action "redshift:Describe*" is added to the policy JSON so Site24x7 can list all the clusters in your account. Learn more.

How to start monitoring

If you've already enabled access and integrated your AWS account with Site24x7, then you can enable monitoring for your Redshift data warehouse clusters via the UI controls in the Service View. If not, please follow these simple steps to start seeing metrics for key AWS services in minutes.
